The Bushfire Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) was established under the Commonwealth Governments CRC Program to better manage the bushfire risk to the Australian community.

The symbol is a graphic translation of the names bush and fire. Combining them with the logotype and placing the leaf highest shows the importance of conservation and that nature will prevail.
