Identities
Logos, symbols, brandmarks, these are all terms used when creating identities but with subtle differences.
At Ligthart we classify anything pictorial as a symbol, a logotype is the unique representation of your company name using type, and combined, these elements form your logo.

An identity or brandmark is formed when you start to add additional elements to your logo to gain better recognition. These elements can include textures, consistent use of typefaces and photographic or illustrative styles. It can even go as far as the type of paper you print on, the manner in which employees answers the telephone or the type of hold music you play.
